Everyone’s heads exploded at Momma’s wedding.
Grandma’s done-up bun rocketed loose with her eyebrows flapping behind, right into Auntie Em’s paisley lap. Uncle Denis’s round, red face gorged and popped. Whole skulls came apart like garlic, brain bits punched champagne splashes out their tinkly glasses, and skins burst away in big, raggedy bandages. The white lilies folded in their wide, ugly lips and apologized to Jasmin for being there.
Except they didn’t. Jasmin’s new daddy fit the ring on Jasmin’s only Momma, and no one did anything about it at all.
